President's Welcome

Picture
I would like to sincerely thank all the members of our great Committee who made this year's show
happen. We have a great Committee who are all putting their shoulders to the wheel to make this year’s
Show bigger and better than what has gone before, a challenging task, but one they are relishing. But
we need your help. For our show to continue into the future we need the young generation to step up
and be involved, join the committee and make the show what you would like it to be. Once again this
year we were not able fill all positions needed with committee members having to do multiple jobs which
is not fair. I have taken on President again as we had no one able to take the position, without a President
we cannot legally operate. So if you want to the show to continue please get involved.

This year we will have new events for you to enjoy and join in. A Cow Mooing Competition, which is
open to all ages, with great prizes for the best Adult and Child imitators. After last years Rooster
Crowing Competition being such a success we want to see what you can do again this year so get
practicing! We are delighted to be having Speed Shears back as Dene Chadwick and Alec Gilmore have
put their hands up to co-ordinate it, thanks guys we all very much appreciate you stepping up.

The ‘Farmers Challenge' is on again but this year it will be open to 4 families (2 Adults, 2 children) to
take up the Challenge. This has been highly entertaining for those watching and very rewarding for
those competing. The prizes money on offer is $1500! Thanks to our very generous sponsors.
Nominate your team and be in the race. Entries open 1st October.

We are delighted to let you know that we will have free entertainment for children again. This is due to
the generosity of community members, Lions and businesses such as Talison, and the support of
Bunnings and your dedicated committee.

It is great to see our grounds in use during the year. We had the three groups come this year including
the Bi-tone Caravan who spent 3 days camping on the grounds for their rally and enjoying our District.
They will be back to help out at the show. Maintenance and improvements are ongoing and necessary,
so if you would like to give us a hand you would be very much welcomed and appreciated.

I look forward to seeing you all at the show.

Lyn Chambers
