President's Welcome
As I approach the end of my third and final year as President, I would like to sincerely thank all the members of our great Committee who have made my job a pleasure and a rewarding experience. We have a great Committee who are all putting their shoulders to the wheel to make this year’s Show bigger and better than what has gone before, a challenging task, but one they are relishing.
This year we will have two new events for you to enjoy and be a part of. A Rooster Crowing Competition, which is open to all ages, with great prizes for the best Adult and Child imitators. Sadly, we will not be having Speed Shears as we could not find anyone to co-ordinate it. In its place, we have planned a special event for everyone to enjoy, the ‘Show Sundowner.’ This will include live music, great food available for purchase, along with cocktails and great company. Come and join us and spend time catching up with all those you don’t see often enough and make it a great night.
With the great success of last years inaugural ‘Farmer Challenge' we are planning more challenges which will be highly entertaining for those watching and very rewarding for those competing. The prizing money has increased to $1500! Thanks for our very generous sponsors. 1st Prize will be $1,000 and 2nd $500. Nominate your team and be in the race. Entries open 1st October.
Children are what makes our show, with their excitement and enthusiasm that is so catching and brings back great memories for us older ones. We are delighted to let you know that we will have free entertainment for children again. This is due to the generosity of Talison and the support of Bunnings and your dedicated committee.
I am delighted to advise we have continued to improve the grounds with the installation of additional water lines and outlets which will benefit stall holders as well as our visitors camping on the grounds. Maintenance and improvements are ongoing and necessary, so if you would like to give us a hand you would be very much welcomed and appreciated.
I look forward to seeing you all at the show and hope you enjoy the new and exciting events we have planned.
